The Valuation Process

We understand that a Practice Valuation may occur only a few times over the life of a practice, and the process for a successful valuation assignment may be unfamiliar to you:

  1. The practice owner or business manager contacts CCC Dental Practice Appraisal to explain the requirements of their specific engagement.  We will discuss how CCC can best fit your needs and explain the various methodologies used to value a dental practice.  If CCC is unable to fully meet your needs, we will provide a qualified referral. There is never any cost for a telephone consultation.

  2. If the decision is reached to engage CCC, we will provide a cost estimate and a timetable to perform the valuation. A site visit will be scheduled to perform the equipment appraisal. A detailed questionnaire will be provided for the owner or manager to complete. The previous three years of the practice tax returns will be requested, along with other supporting documentation such as: a fee schedule; copy of lease; etc.

  3. During the site visit Glenn will spend some time with the owner or manager reviewing the supplied materials to make sure we have an insightful view of the unique aspects of your practice. The owner will have ample opportunity to represent their practice and ask questions regarding the report. Payment in full is due at this time.

  4. The asset appraisal will be completed first and the owner asked to review it for correctness. The owner may also be contacted to provide clarification of answers previously supplied, or for additional follow up information.

  5. A draft copy of portions of the report will be submitted to the owner to review for correctness only. Upon owner approval the entire report will be finalized and then 2 copies mailed to the practice owner.

Valuation Standards

CCC Dental Practice Appraisal follows all accepted guidelines for publishing valuation reports.

Standards. Both the American Society of Appraisers and the Institute of Business Appraisers have implemented professional standards and ethics to which all members must adhere in the preparation of valuation reports. The Appraisal Foundation has also developed and continually updates the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice which have been adopted by all fifty states and the federal government. Your valuation report will be written in compliance with these standards. We believe ongoing continuing professional education is our responsibility. We attend seminars and conferences to remain up to date on the current state of the art as practiced in business valuation.

Integrity. CCC Dental Practice Appraisals functions in a unique role of non advocacy in the preparation of all valuation reports. In addition, we are bound by a professional code of ethics as set forth by the Institute of Business Appraisers. We strive to deliver uninvolved objective opinions of value in every case. You may be assured that client confidentiality is respected and has never been compromised in our history. We will never accept payment on either a percentage or contingency basis. If the requirements of your engagement lie outside our capability we will advise you of that fact and make appropriate referrals to other qualified professionals within that area of expertise. We are proud of the reputation we have forged within the dental community throughout our years of service.

References. We are pleased to provide references from other dental professionals for whom we have completed assignments. In order to protect client confidentiality references will be supplied only as requested.
